Application Process in a Nutshell:
– Artists can apply for an exhibition roughly 1,5 years in advance
– Deadlines are twice a year: 31 October & 30 April
– The applications are submitted via an electronic form

During spring 2017 you can apply for exhibition from August to December 2018 (Deadline 30 April 2017)

With one proposal you can apply for either the gallery space, the studio or the two together. You cannot submit one proposal for either or.

Hippolyte is divided into two exhibition spaces: the main gallery Photographic Gallery Hippolyte (c. 72 m2) and the smaller Hippolyte Studio (c. 13 m2). The larger gallery is c. 6 m high, where as Hippolyte Studio is a lower space, c. 2,8 m. There are no windows in either space. See the floor plan below.

We accept applications from all artists for both spaces. Photographic art plays an important role in Hippolyte’s programme, and we hope for some connection to photography in its wider definition. The connection should also be communicated in the proposal when necessary.

Exhibition period

The exhibition period is four weeks, which includes installation, dismounting and opening days.

Application and appendices

The proposals should be submitted only via an electronic form: You can find the form here
The form will be available on April 2nd 2017 and closes on Sun April 30th 2017, midnight.

In 2016 the fee for the exhibition period in the larger gallery was € 2 300 for the members of the Photographic Artists’ Association and € 2 700 for others. For Hippolyte Studio the fee was 660 € for all artists. For both spaces the fee is either 2960 € (members) or 3360 € (other artists).
