How to apply for an exhibition in PHOTOGRAPHIC GALLERY HIPPOLYTE:

Exhibition applications can be submitted to Photographic Gallery Hippolyte twice a year. Applications for the next spring season must be submitted by the end of the preceding April (deadline 30.4.), applications for the next autumn season by the end of the preceding October (deadline 31.10.)

Exhibition period
The exhibition period is four weeks, which includes hanging, dismounting and opening days. The applicant can suggest a time that would be most appropriate for them.

Application and appendices
The application itself is informal. It should be accompanied by a portfolio, preferably one that is easily handled, with high-quality prints of the planned exhibition. The application may also include other visual material and catalogues, as well as a CV. Pictures of work should include specific information about the title, year, dimensions, work technique and other relevant information for the exhibition. The application material is returned to the sender.

Processing of applications
Applications are processed by the exhibition committee of Photographic Gallery Hippolyte. The committee consists of four artists who are members of the Union, and the staff of the gallery. All applicants are informed personally of the committee’s decision.

Rent
The rent for the gallery is at the moment €1,700 for members of the Union of Artist Photographers and €1,900 for others. The cost of printing and mailing of invitations is not included in the rent.

How to apply for an exhibition in HIPPOLYTE STUDIO:

Hippolyte Studio proposes a possibility for artists as well as audience to look into processes situated on the verge of the expressions of lens-based art and other media of art. We would like to provide art makers a possibility for experimentation and quick reaction. The space is open for trials and if so happens also errors.

The rent for four weeks is 300 €, for which the gallery provides the space and staffing, lighting and the usual material and equipment for hanging the work. The artist is responsible for other equipment possibly required. Releases and invitations about the events in the Studio are sent predominantly by e-mail.

The Studio consists of three wall surfaces (210, 460 ja 220 cm) in a square shaped space in connection to the gallery’s book shop and office in the room towards the court yard. Download and print the plan for Hippolyte Studio: www.hippolyte.fi/studio/pohjakuva.pdf

Freely formulated applications for exhibitions in the Studio are received three times a year.

Application deadlines:
- End of March (31.3.): Applications for exhibitions during the same year from August to November.
- End of July (31.7.): Applications for exhibitions from December during the same year to March during the following year.
- End of November (30.11.): Applications for exhibitions during the following year from April to July.
