URSLE SCHNEIDER & PATAPHYSICS PART II
IFUIFU-IBAIBA
This exhibition is about another “imaginary solution for a non-existent problem”. It is about searching for the views, stories, dreams, sense and nonsense that surround us: between mountains and Lapland, between times & places, in nature, in life, in our emotions. It is about works of art as indicators of moods and imaginations, about trying to get free of ideas to be open for ideas. It is about knowing to be influenced by our surroundings. Reflecting it, exposing creatively. Searching for confrontation, isolation, provocation, calmness, satisfaction. Collecting images, impressions, fascinations, symbols, thoughts and searching for their relations and their contrasts. Finding them and losing them.
It is about images and symbols chosen through a very personal interpretation of their meaning, often not rationally understandable. It is about being confronted with symbols captured by photography and life, thinking about what it evokes. With an open and elusive meaning. Freed from the traditional qualities of photography, the interest turns more on intuition and experiment.
I like to explore the edges of the medium of photography. And maybe this is less about the images themselves than about the images evoked in the spectator.
