In February, Hippolyte will present a broad selection of photographs by Ben Kaila (b. 1949). The black-and-white photos are from 1969­2007 and are all printed by the artist himself. Some of the photos are old favourites, some are brand new. There are also gems from the artist's archives previously never seen as prints.

Ben Kaila's photographs are sparse and undemonstrative, tending to the laconic rather than narrative. His visual idiom ranges from the subjectively documentary to the abstract.
