Awarded Artists for Artist-in-Residence and Gallery Process/Exhibition
in Stockholm and Helsinki in 2009/2010
CFF - Center for Photography (Stockholm, Sweden) and Photographic Gallery Hippolyte (Helsinki, Finland) are for the second year in a row continuing their artist-in-residence collaboration, and are honored to announce the awarded artists:
Henrik Eriksson (Stockholm)
Sini Pelkki (Helsingfors)
Residency in Helsinki January – February 2010:
Henrik Eriksson (Stockholm) has recently worked with processes, where physical and intellectual excursions seem to end up close to painting practices. But the field of associations and techniques are still wide and playful. He works with several techniques and combines photography with different elements, including, programmed light phenomena, drawings, objects that are projected as slides.

Residency in Stockholm December 2009 – January 2010:
Sini Pelkki (Helsinki) works with photography, moving image, film and video. She is intrigued by frame(s), both the limitations and the possibilities imposed and offered by a single frame – a square to project into. The work evolves through the marriage of documenting and staging. An existing, lived space interests her. All the elements in her photographic work have a history of their own. Sometimes a work springs through a drawing, a sketch of an idea or through an experience, though something that she has observed.
