Artist-in-Residence and Gallery Exhibition/Process in Stockholm 2008
March-April 2008:

November-December 2008:
Gallery Exhibition/Process – Finnish Institute Gallery, Stockholm, Sweden
CFF – Centrum för fotografi (Centre for Photography) in Stockholm, and Photographic Gallery Hippolyte/Union of Artist Photographers in Finland are pleased to launch a collaboration with the Finnish Institute in Stockholm.
One residency is available for two months in Stockholm during March-April 2008 for a professional artist based in Finland working with photo/video-based art. During the residency there is an opportunity to work in the Project Space of CFF (17.4.-4.5.2007), as well as develop a discursive event in collaboration with CFF. The Project Space is a white cube c. 5 x 5 m with four walls (without windows) and a small door opening close to one corner. The white cube is situated in the CFF gallery space totaling 240 m2. THE RECIDENCY INCLUDES:
- Travel costs to and from the residency
- A grant of 1000 euro
- Free accommodation and studio with Internet access
- Opportunity to work/present work in the CFF project room 17.4.-4.5.2007 (production costs not included).
- Opportunity to develop discursive event/artist talk/seminar in collaboration with CFF during residency
- Opportunity to develop process/exhibition at the Finnish Institute Gallery, Stockholm 26.11.-17.12.2008 (transportation/travel/accommodation/invitation cards included)
- Various other opportunities to create contacts and participate in local activities and/or concentrate on individual work
The residency studio
Malongen is situated in the Söder district, a nice and lively area in the centre of Stockholm. The building, dating from the 1670's, houses several other studios for artists.
The studio flat is roughly 100 m2. It offers an easel, a work table and good lighting. The two-room flat with kitchen and bathroom is fully furnished and equipped with a radio and a TV set and Internet access. When necessary, the artist can be accompanied by a family member.

The Finnish Institute Gallery November-December 2008:
As a part of the residency program, the Finnish Institute Gallery in Stockholm offers an opportunity to follow up the residency in November 2008 in the gallery space of the Finnish Institute 26.11.-17.12.2008. The gallery is situated on the entrance floor of the Finnish Institute in central Stockholm. The rectangular gallery space is c. 70 m2 with one window wall (for floorplan click here). The Finnish Institute covers transportation and travel costs, accommodation, and assistance during the installation work, printing and posting of invitation cards. The selection process

The residency collaboration is initiated by Centrum för fotografi and Photographic Gallery Hippolyte/Union of Artist Photographers in Finland, and it is produced in collaboration with the Finnish Institute in Stockholm (www.finlandsinstitutet.se) and the Swedish Section of the Nordic Art Association (www.nkf.se).
CFF (Centre for Photography) is a membership-based organisation with an assignment both to extend the public understanding of the photographic media, but also to support and benefit professional photographers.
Photographic Gallery Hippolyte is run by the Union of Artist Photographers in Finland -- a nonprofit artist-run association with 295 member artists.
